If you think an adventure through the spirit world, complete with the unusual characters you’d expect along the way, this will work
Much like its brethren from the same studio, My Big Sister and Red Bow, Ashina is an adventure focused on a journey through a strange and sometimes creepy world filled with some odd characters. You’ll need to explore, chat up the people you meet, and find the necessary items to complete quests and advance the story, a pretty normal sort of deal for this sort of title. The hook is the game’s art (which also shows some nice lighting effects), tone, and for the most part its music which helps set and maintain the general mood throughout. While the journey will only last a few hours, there’s just enough of a hook to return to compel you to check out one of the game’s other 3 endings to see the whole picture. It’s a niche sort of experience, to be sure, but it’s still a generally solid one.
