In what amounts to a more actively-controlled version of something like Lemmings is novel, but ultimately bland
I’ve always had a soft spot for the classic puzzle game Lemmings, and to a degree there’s an element of that spirit that comes through in Goroons, though in a more active way. Whether you’re solo and control each of your creatures in rotation, or playing with some friends, you’ll pretty quickly get up to speed on the distinct types you can switch between in order to complete the current challenge set in front of you. That said, there’s something generally pretty straight-forward about it all that it doesn’t quite connect with the challenge or bits of excitement you’d hope for to keep it compelling. It works, there are just more engaging puzzlers out there that take things to the next level that this falls short of.
