An interesting take on exploring abusive relationships mixed with some resource and time management
If you’re someone looking for narrative experiences that simply hit a bit differently than the norm, A Long Journey to an Uncertain End is likely for you. If you’re not, that’s where the troubles may set in. You’re literally in control of your ship, as its resident AI, and you’re working to stay a few steps ahead of your abusive ex… you’ll just have to play the game for it to more fully make sense. Anyway, along the way you’ll need to keep up with resources for keeping everything afloat, and for that you’ll need to enlist the aid of additional crew from quite an odd assortment of characters you’ll encounter. The challenge will be that you’ll need to take care of them, be sure you assign them optimally to available jobs, and work through to one of the story’s handful of endings that correspond to the adventure you’ve managed to put together. While absolutely not for everyone, it makes for a good narrative with some distinctive characters and some charm for the patient.
