While it may look and somewhat feel more in line with farm life sims, there’s a hard edge to the combat that feels out of place overall
This is one of those indie titles that I find a bit frustrating. You can see the bones of a decent experience here, with it feeling a bit like a light farm sim that has peppered in more of an action RPG sensibility, in particular with regards to combat. Sure, the presentation is a bit pulled back and simple, which may scare some people off, but you can see the promise overall. The problem? With combat being a pretty strong focus you really start out feeling ill-equipped for success in your journey and in general the action feels like it could use some more polish. This, to me, creates a bit of confusion on who the title is for, since it seems to be a bit too difficult getting started for more casual to middle-of-the-road players, but probably too lacking in polish and complexity to attract the more savvy players who won’t mind the difficulties as much. It feels like in order to maximize its potential audience it should either tone things down or at least offer an option for less intense play. It has its merits, and feels like it could be a satisfying adventure, but a bit more work could really make a difference in improving its “almost there” experience.
