While certainly not for everyone, people with school-aged kids looking to test their general knowledge may enjoy it
Given that the ship has long since sailed for this pretty gimmicky prime-time game show, it was interesting to see this one show up in my mailbox. Given both that it’s a modestly educational game and that its degree of expertise caps out at “sixth grade”, with plenty of lower-level questions as you build up to that, it’s also pretty obviously a niche title. With all of that in mind, I honestly was expecting much worse. Presentation-wise I understand the attempt to maintain the format of the show the developers bothered to have the license for but all-too-quickly you’ll want to skip all of it since it is repetitive and often pretty cringy. Getting to the meat and potatoes of the questions themselves, and how things play out, it does work though. You’ll have your choice of categories and there can be some surprisingly-difficult questions, depending on your weak areas, including my horrible geography abilities being tested by finding foreign countries on a map sometimes. Since it can be played solo or with some friends or family it has some versatility, though obviously if you’re playing with mixed age groups it may be a bit unfair to the youngins unless the adults are really struggling. I believe you get roughly what you pay for with this title if your goal is to find something for your school-age kids who like to test their general knowledge, just understand it has some limitations.
