This budget action title keeps things simple in terms of controls, but still delivers an engaging and fun challenge
The trick to making a successful budget title is knowing what your hook is going to be and then executing the hell out of it, never losing sight of your core objective. Bumballon absolutely does this, making the fact that the controls are pretty minimal less of a big deal as you’re focused on the precision of moving around and catching gems as you shoot through levels from cannon to cannon. You do have the ability to slow yourself down, helping you avoid passing up gems or running into barriers or enemies, and this is typically where the challenge comes into play as you try to exercise caution on when to release yourself to move on. Throwing on the requirement to grab all gems in each level to proceed also can spice up the degree of challenge, making you keep careful track of the stage layout so you’re sure to grab everything you can. Not terribly complex or deep, but for the price it looks nice and delivers a solid experience.
