Yet another “construction sim” that has you performing simple tasks to try to turn your [insert thing here] around
While I absolutely understand that people can enjoy games like this for their simplicity, repetition, and working towards an end goal of some kind, they tend to be tough for me to enjoy. There’s usually only so much I can take of the slow process typically involved in seeing any meaningful results, so I burn out on them pretty quickly. That said, what makes the bar higher for these games is the fact that I have run into titles within this genre that step things up to be more interesting, diverse in their activities, accessible, and more consistently engaging. In the case of Castle Renovator one issue I specifically have with it is the generally sloppy feel of the controls as you try to complete generally pretty mundane tasks that shouldn’t feel quite so difficult. If this is your bag there are absolutely worse games out there in the eShop, but I wouldn’t consider this remotely "good" either.
