Being just a simple digital coloring book limits the excitement, but it’s at least implemented reasonably well
Keeping in mind that the Switch is an all-ages device, and happens to include a touchscreen, there’s a world of possibilities for gamers of all types to enjoy content on it. That, of course, includes the much younger set who may not be quite ready for a controller or a bunch of text-based instructions. With that in mind Cat Tales does a decent job of putting together a digital coloring book that may not be as intuitive as it could be using either the controller or touchscreen, but at least puts in some effort to get it right. With either control scheme you’ll get the hang of it, though parents could initially need to stay on-hand to help kids learn how to bring up the menu to change tools or colors. Another observation is that for the price the included content feels quite thin, and the inclusion of additional content to buy then feels a little bait-and-switchy, but if you’re willing to likely ignore that it does a decent job.
