While it tries to have some variety in its local multiplayer battle mix, very little feels fresh or interesting
Let’s just get right down to it, there are simply loads of local multiplayer brawlers / shooters / pretty well whatever you may like on Switch. To its credit, Chickenoidz kind of seems to acknowledge that fact and not stick with just one lane, giving you a hodgepodge of styles across a variety of maps. Power-ups are plentiful, some are more melee-style while others are for shooting weapons with various effects. While things can absolutely get a bit crazy and chaotic at times though it just seems to be missing that special sauce to help pull it out of a “gets a bit dull too quickly” feel. Granted, my family and I have become quite jaded with this sort of affair through sheer volume, but while we’ve absolutely played worse titles in the space within a week I think we’d struggle to differentiate it much from a gaggle of similar games.
