  • While certainly expectations for something so dirt cheap can’t be high, if you’re not looking for extreme simplicity you’ll want to pass

True rock-bottom budget games are always a bit of a challenge to feel you’re reviewing fairly, certainly when you’re able to buy a game with what’s essentially pocket change you can’t expect the world. Even so, there’s just something so fundamentally basic about Cubic Figures 2 that it’s hard to stay interested for long. You’ll be given a shape to fill in and then a bunch of odd pieces that you can rotate into place and put together properly to complete it. Pull that off and you’ll move onto the next one without much ceremony or even an honest attempt at building much interest. Then there are just odd design choices like the tendency to stack some pieces on top of each other rather than simply letting people start out seeing them all. I suppose it’s intended to make people think harder on the ones they see initially, but it’s just a strange approach. Even at its incredibly humble price there’s really so little of note here that it’s hard to recommend giving even your time to it.
