This roguelike golfing title thoroughly proves that sports titles are ripe for conversion if they can all be this good
As a person who, in general, is a fan of anything people want to take a crack at making into a roguelike experience in some way, Cursed to Golf is a dream. About to make the shot of your career you’re struck by lightning on the green and find yourself trapped in an odd golfing-themed Purgatory where you must play through successfully in order to be saved… but if only it were that easy. It’s the often pretty brutal nature of the sometimes-evil course designs that make the game memorable but in order to not be completely cruel the developers have also given you the benefit of special cards that you can use at key points to help you proceed just a little further. For the most part this makes for a challenge where the mechanics are simple enough, you’ll be going with the old-school gauges for determining your power and angle, and then just hope that you can make your shot work sometimes tapping of the aforementioned cards or perhaps just a little spin on the ball to make it do your bidding. A welcome challenge that really livens up golfing wonderfully!
