A budget contender looking to get a piece of the Vampire Survivors pie with some similar elements but none of the charm
Especially since Vampire Survivors has somehow not yet graced the Switch, you can sense some eager beavers are trying to get to the party early to cash in before it sucks all of the oxygen out of the space on the eShop. In the case of CyberHeroes Arena DX, though, it’s unfortunately a pretty pale imitation with a lot less space to work in, opting for a fixed space and screen, far less overall variety, and those small touches like random chest rewards that make the original so memorable. In many ways this feels like a demake of sorts of the formula, as if it had existed in an earlier classic console or arcade era, confining you to the screen and removing just a bit too much for it to hold up well. That’s underlined by the fact that there are simply far better options out there just on the Switch in the form of Void Scrappers which unfortunately flies circles around this.
