While it has the look (mostly), the sound, and some of the character of the movies, the game is a buggy mess
Yeah, this is one of those cases where you start up the game and start to run around… and then clip through the geometry in the first minute, and thus the initial bad impression starts you down a rabbit hole. While I have no doubt on other platforms the game’s look isn’t quite so weak overall, the issues I ran into feel fundamental enough that I’d imagine they’re shared on every platform. What’s odd is even though the core platforming has some issues the team behind this also decided to tackle some mini games with different genre feels, like a music and rhythm sequence, that similarly doesn’t work well so it got to be a challenge to find genuine silver linings within this troubled release. Perhaps with some time and quite a lot of patching this colorful licensed game can be redeemed (it’s obvious there was a rush to get this out with the release of their new movie), but right now there are far better platformers out there to engage with.
