Oh man, where you do you begin with this game. I get and like weird... but that can't save dull gameplay
You sometimes encounter games that seem to have very deliberately chosen their path, look, and content… and it leaves you utterly baffled. For me Game Type DX is one such game. From the opening interface, which I can only assume was based on the old-school X-Box home interface (and thus immediately dating the game’s origins, it seems) you’ll actually struggle a bit to find the game… which I think is supposed to be the jokey point but boy is it a bad way to start. From there it really doesn’t improve too much, sadly, with dated and rough looks even by pixel art game standards. Facing cats and some other enemies I can only assume are based on or around memes, you’ll shoot, grab cash, struggle to differentiate enemy fire from things you want… and that’s about it. Just there are so many great shooters on the Switch, I can’t imagine what the hook is supposed to be here to care about it.
