While its gacha game essence and free-to-play screens may be irksome, the story and gameplay are spot on
The Switch certainly has its share of titles that do the action-RPG style of play great justice, and now I’m here to tell you this free-to-play has boldly planted its flag in the space as well… and with some justification. I’m not going to lie, the main interface, full of clutter, daily rewards, a battle pass-esque system, gacha-style hoping for great character and weapon drops… it’s all a bit overwhelming and much of it also isn’t explained very well. That said, if you’re just down to play a pretty cool game with responsive combat, some fun characters, smart puzzles and secrets hidden in many stages… boy howdy does it deliver just that. It actually does some of these things better than some well-regarded titles you’d have to pay for, and I can absolutely respect that, but of course the people behind it need some means to pay themselves so you’ll have to wade through some stuff to get to the good parts. All things taken into account, I’d still consider this a top-notch action-RPG that’s deserving of a serious look, and with no price of admission there shouldn’t be much stopping you.
