You can’t fault this budget game with a timely theme trying to make a splash on the eShop, just don’t expect much
While Halloween tends to bring the biggest rush of seasonal titles to the eShop, there’s no question other holidays are ripe for the same treatment, especially Christmas. Perhaps it’s no surprise then to see this roguelike twin-stick shooter arrive just in time to help you work out your frustrations by taking out a ton of elves as well as a few other season-appropriate targets as you progress. That said, be ready for quite a lot of activity that feels awfully familiar and repeated, since quite often stages tend to have near-identical layouts and there’s only so many times you’ll giggle over headbutting an elf for an explosive finishing move or setting them on fire. There’s absolutely a little taking it to the season energy here, but within a pretty short period it’s also not hard to lose interest a bit since the core gameplay itself is lacking in depth and longevity, especially in a genre space ripe with excellent options.
