A collection of puzzles that will challenge your visual acuity and matching abilities

Normally when I think of casual puzzle collections, at this point they tend to heavily involve hidden objects, nonograms, or box pushing of some kind. So when something defies those expectations it already gets a step up in my book… at least a small one. With a fitting title of Just Find It you could be excused for thinking hidden objects would be the focus, but instead this is a collection of pretty well every other sort of puzzle that would test your powers of observation.

Whether it’s finding matching pairs, detecting differences, or even participating in a periodic old-school memory game, this is a collection that challenges your ability to spot fine details. What I like is that it goes to a little added effort to complicate matters when possible, like throwing quite a number of red herring objects into pair matching puzzles to try to throw you off. To me, it’s small touches like this that help elevate my opinion beyond even nuances like the quality of the presentation.

While I’ll list a few odd criticisms, I’ll admit that’s more to do with being thorough than noting anything I’d consider a real problem. The main interface is certainly on the merely functional side, for the most part just listing out all of the puzzles by name, with some sidebar options available to filter out which specific flavor you’re looking for. I also mentioned that this isn’t a title more heavily featuring hidden objects, but they are here as “montage” puzzles, and I’ll admit that compared to those titles that focus on them, their implementation here doesn’t do a great job of integrating the hidden objects into the background.

All in all, I actually did enjoy this collection for simply feeling like a black sheep standing in a flock of other games in the space that are more content to be alike. It may not wow you with all aspects of its presentation, and some of its competitors may have implemented specific puzzle types more effectively. That said, the mix of types, some value added effort in the right places, and a consistently calm experience work to help it stand out.
