If you’re looking for solid anime characters and odd story beats first, and dungeon crawling party building second, this works well
What can I say, while I’ve watched a number of anime over time and appreciate the unique flavor they often have, I’ll admit I struggle with them at times. Pair that with pretty old-school dungeon-crawler gameplay, though with some impressive ways to pretty intricately manage your avatars and teams, and it’s a bit of an uphill battle for anyone who isn’t a big fan. Where the needle pushes a little too far is that the story elements are so front-loaded that you won’t do anything but passively watch it drag by for the first 30 minutes or so. The thing is, for people who dig the art style, the strange story, and some value-added turn-based dungeon crawling I don’t doubt it will be a pretty good time. Just be sure it’s your cup of tea.
