Given the abundance of platforming titles released since their introduction decades ago, it is always refreshing to see a variation on the genre that feels fresh. Light-It Up certainly delivers in this regard, as players must carefully jump between shapes on the screen to activate them. While this basic gameplay may not seem particularly deep, new behaviors and rules are quickly introduced to increase the challenge, such as shapes moving after being activated… and this helps keep things a bit more interesting.

Most typically, the challenge is to be as precise as possible with your somewhat limited capabilities, and this seems perfectly reasonable in order to maintain a high level of challenge. The end result is gameplay that’s refreshingly different, though the difficulty can fluctuate a bit wildly from stage to stage at times. Despite this, Light-It Up is a great budget option for those looking for a unique and challenging platforming experience.
