Some odd design choices, weak overall play, and pretty barren environments await
Low Story is the sort of experience where it leaves me with the feeling the game simply isn’t ready for prime time. Perhaps a few generations ago this somewhat bare bones feeling affair could have worked in some way, but when the indie space is simply loaded with great choices of all sorts this comes up pretty clearly short. The somewhat plodding run and gun play isn’t terribly inspired or exciting, there are spaces that are so poorly lit I was struggling to see what I was doing or even where the ground was, and on a general level I’m challenged to answer the pretty fundamental question of who is this really for? At best a novelty to try and then likely forget about Low Story comes out feeling quite appropriately self-rated.
