While there’s certainly a strategic component of sorts, and some skill required for success, the repetition of the experience sets in pretty quickly
This is one of those titles where it’s a bit hard to be tough on it, but it sort of leaves you little choice. The anime art looks good, the shooting action there works well, and the choices you’ll make for what upgrades to buy and how you level up your stats gives you some latitude. All that said, there simply isn’t enough variety other than some new enemies and challenges showing up as you progress to keep you coming back for more… at least after the first few runs where it is fun to see where it decides to go. It is well-executed but I wouldn’t consider it terribly ambitious either.
