The overall mythology vibe is cute, but the lack of decent camera control and weak mechanics hold back the experience
This is one of those titles where you can see (and even appreciate) the ambition of the overall design, but the specifics of the implementation end up being its downfall. You start out as a frustrated apprentice, left to go out on a lame task, but when you encounter an old shine you take on the ability to turn people to stone. From there it’s a bit of a puzzle-solving adventure, with Molly being capable of walking on the walls or ceilings (while sometimes needing to freeze things as well) in order to work through different temples. The thing is, it all tends to feel a bit janky and uneven in the controls and the lack of a better means of controlling the camera just compounds the problem. I’ll give credit for the fact that it poses a pretty different challenge than I’m used to conceptually, but the lack of polish on the experience makes it tough to recommend with any enthusiasm.
