If you’re looking for an unusual flavor of LGTBQ+ romance, it will deliver that, just don’t expect too much more than that

Hoo boy, so this title combines a genre I’m not a big proponent of with a pretty obvious target audience that I’m not a part of. While I’ve reviewed games for the LGTBQ+, and have found some of them to be quite worthwhile, I just want to establish that I can’t speak to their tone or authenticity with any sort of authority. So excuse me if I approach this more from how it functions as a digital novel than from the quality of the more romantic notes that it is going for.

As the title suggests, the story takes place in a world where monsters and humans co-exist. You’ll play as a young human by the name of Christopher, who has decided to roll the dice and get assigned to working in Saint George, which happens to be the most monster-filled spot in the country. What follows depends quite a bit on which of the four primary characters you meet and find yourself most drawn to. These include the flirtatious Vincent the Vampire, the more confounding Sebastian the Mummy, the family-oriented Ben the Werewolf, and even Isaac the Android.

In general, I can’t say that aside from the monster theme this ends up feeling incredibly different than the average romance title of this kind. You do have the ability to make some choices, and that can have an impact on a good or bad ending with any of the given romantic interests, but on the whole it is what it is. The artwork at least works, and isn’t quite as static as some of the other titles out there. There’s also at least some voice work, which is a nice touch, but it’s more sporadic in nature. I’ll give it credit for offering up a different flavor than the norm, but it’s obviously going to have only pretty niche appeal.
