While this very casual photography adventure with plenty of cats to capture has charm, it’s also a bit thin on substance
Oh how the cozy gaming space loves cats. As an admitted dog person, I can’t say I really understand what can sometimes feel like an obsessive fascination, but I can at least respect the feels that games featuring cats can usually achieve. In the case of Neko Odyssey, playing as someone who finds themselves on an island full of them, if you can’t get your feline fix with this game you’ve got a real problem on your hands! While there’s an underlying story to discover, and simple fun to be enjoyed, the overwhelming focus here is on the cats. Since your goal is to try to build up your social media following by snapping as many great pics as possible with the local feline population, you’ll have to walk around town every day, even visiting most of the businesses, in search of what are usually these pretty chill furry critters. Early on most of them are willing to let you take a picture for a simple pet behind the ears, but as you try to get them to be more cooperative for better shots in different poses, you’ll need to work a little more diligently to be successful.Thankfully, as you continue to build your online following you’ll get plenty of tips and requests that will help you enjoy even more success, as well as local changes and help that will help expand your photo possibilities. It doesn’t have a great deal of variety or depth, but if you’re looking for a cozy experience this delivers on what counts. There’s no real pressure to speak of, you’ll get to pet and photograph cats to your heart’s content, and in general the game is just overwhelmingly pleasant and relaxing. If you’ve been looking for some sort of low-key cozy experience, it delivers precisely that.
