While there’s some novelty in the challenge of this wall-jumping actioner, it’s hard to sustain interest in it
Given the relative simplicity of the game’s core repetitive action, I’d consider this pretty much a take it or leave it experience. You’ll control your ninja as he must move through levels by jumping between surfaces, collecting items, dispatching enemies, and avoiding traps. I wouldn’t generally consider the level design terribly inspired, and that that’s really where the shortcomings of the experience lie. Yes, the stages will be laid out differently and pose challenges that will vary as you go… but below it all there’s no mistaking the growing sense of there just not being enough different to keep things very interesting for long. In that regard it plays a bit too much like a mobile game perhaps, being better suited to shorter bursts of play, helping you more easily ignore the core repetition. Sticking with it for a while in one sitting it does get a bit dull pretty quickly.
