There’s no doubt that Star Trek, as a sci-fi franchise spanning pretty well every type of media there is, has a pretty impressive footprint in the games space… and with good reason. Looking to capitalize on its popularity, the folks at Zen Studios have cooked up this pretty eclectic mix of tables representing 3 pretty distinctive flavors of Trek.

Starting with Deep Space Nine you have what’s probably the most traditional table in the bunch, featuring ramps on each side as well as one in the middle, and serving up a fair challenge to go with a fair amount of voice work and classic DS9 characters and elements. Moving on to much more modern times with a table dedicated to Discovery, you have a more unusual and distinctive layout, with additional flippers and a small separate play area to give you plenty to work out and try to master as well. The theming trends more towards just being visual, not featuring almost anything in the way of speed, but it’s still an engaging table due to its layout being a bit non-traditional. The last one, representing the movie reboot, I’d say is the most unusual, but also perhaps the least appealing. Featuring a Captain’s chair in the middle which serves as a bit of an annoying obstacle more often than not, it initially looks pretty traditional but then starts to quickly show some of its oddities. I’d say if you’re a bit Trek fan there’s still plenty of interest to be had here, but for more casual fans I can’t say there’s much that would make this pack clearly stand above your other options already in place.
