Delivers plenty of variety for solo or group play around its classic core play, and throws in an unexpected mash-up for good measure
While I’ll always have a place in my heart for the original Bubble Bobble I’ll admit that the puzzle game spin-off Puzzle Bobble has always been a good time. With this release they’ve really pulled out all of the possible stops you could ask for, delivering a story mode which can be tackled solo or even co-op, and then just about every variation of versus play you could imagine with up to 4 people including a 2 on 2 option. While we’ll see how long it would remain viable online multiplayer is also a nice option to have. Topping it off there’s then another shot in the dark which is at least novel, even if not likely something that would remain interesting for long mashing it up with the classic Space Invaders. Truly there’s not much more you could ask for, and if you’re a fan of the series it should absolutely deliver plenty of polished fun.
