Reviews:
  • So the original Remothered was a weird ole suspense-filled adventure of sorts with a crazy story and you trying desperately to escape being locked in an old house with a crazed old man. In this follow-up there are new bizarre elements and people introduced to the pile and on a general level the experience is very similar, except mechanically and in terms of the narrative everything feels a bit messier here. Cutscene dialogue almost doesn’t seem connected in some spots, and I think the weird throttle for the story got broken at some point and it has gone into overdrive. Yet again your time is mostly spent trying to sneak, find and craft items to help you, make smart use of said items in a pinch to save yourself, and keeping track of all potential hiding spots since you’ll need them. I suppose if you’re looking for some tension it could provide a thrill but I’d take the original, see how it goes, and then see if you’re up for the sequel if I had to choose between the two.
