While this puzzler carries a budget-friendly price, the fact that it’s mostly just a variation on classic box pushers limits the appeal
When it comes to budget puzzlers I really do try to keep an open and positive mind, but I’ll admit that the sheer volume of box pushing games specifically over the years has worn down my resolve. When I started up Sokoball Dreams, unsure of what to expect, I actually thought with the ball rolling along it could be something a bit different and involve some dexterous skill, but then my hopes were pretty quickly dashed. Yes, this is another box pushing game, even if its overall presentation style could imply otherwise. Is it clearly better or worse than the loads of them already out there? Perhaps it looks a little better, but it’s really hard to say they’re meaningfully different and in general you should probably just grab whichever one is on the best sale in the end.
