Considering the fact that I’ve been following and enjoying Spin Rhythm XD for years, since I originally saw it at PAX East one time, and it’s easily one of my favorite rhythm games in quite some time, I’m always down to check out some new content for it. Unsurprisingly, the Chillhop DLC pack adds on just a few new tracks, and then some unique skins and visual elements for flavor… delivering just what it promises.

Now, depending on what sort of music gets you excited, or at least what style you prefer to mix with Spin Rhythm’s unique play style, this could range from a great time to a bit of a bore. What struck me most wasn’t even that the vibe with most of the featured music is so laid back (this is the Chill-hop DLC pack after all) but that the included tracks also tended to be a bit longer than I’m used to. In the end, it lacked the more intense and loud styles I typically preferred most to mix with the game, but if you’d just like to relax and vibe with these tunes that can work fine as well.
