Thank you Indie Gamer, but the Princess you want is in another game…
This is one of those titles I checked out a few months ago on PC during Steam NextFest that left a not-too-hot impression on me, that I was really hoping would improve with a bit more time in the oven. After a few inconsistent and janky runs it was clear that nothing of substance to make this experience salvageable had occurred. I can’t really tell what the goal here was, to make an accessible Princess-saving romp with your hero cutting through enemies in engaging combat and working his way through trap rooms, or to make it a rough-and-tumble roguelike to make you sweat. Run to run it alternated which it felt like, sometimes with the first room being unnecessarily brutal, and others where I got in rooms designed by a masochist where it was hard to even tell where I was going and were boring as all get-out. Just as a whole this effort practically feels unfinished, and on such a roguelike rich system that’s not going to cut it.
