This mix of ideas from classics like of Asteroids and Lunar Lander is interesting, touchy controls make it tough to love
As a big fan of retro arcade games, especially ones that try to deal with things like gravity (and dealing with trying to both use it to your advantage and not allow it to destroy you), in principle I should be on board for WARP. In practice, unfortunately, touchy controls all around make nuanced control of your ship quite a challenge, but not really in a positive way. Inertia can be both your savior and sworn enemy, depending on the circumstances, and certainly learning to effectively counter your direction and rate of speed is crucial to success. The problem is that I can’t remotely imagine using the word precise to describe what you have to work with. Whether you try to tap, feather, or just about any other general method it’s really hard to feel like you’re really in control of the ship so much as narrowly avoiding disaster at just about every turn. You could simply chalk that up as an obstacle to overcome, certainly, but I can’t say the reward of completing one stage just to move to the next felt very rewarding for very long. That said, if you’re a challenge hound who doesn’t mind trying your best to keep one step ahead of chaos it might really have some appeal.
