There’s nothing wrong with another variation on Overcooked’s formula, but aside from theme this fails to differentiate
While there’s nothing wrong with trying to tap into the formula for success forged by other teams, in order to really capitalize on such an opportunity you need to do some work to really differentiate yourself. In the case of Witchtastic the elevator pitch would be: Overcooked, but with witches making potions. Really the issue is that aside from that alteration of theme and some more nuanced changes in what you’re preparing and how, there’s no crystal clear selling point, and to be honest even elements like the different layouts and configurations you’ll need to contend with as you go don’t feel as inspired as not just Overcooked but some other comparable competitors as well. It is certainly playable if you and your friends or family would like to take on a different twist on the formula, but don’t expect all that much past mostly cosmetic differences.
