A game that will first trigger, and then satisfy, your inner OCD freak
Whether brought about by people being trapped in their houses from Covid, general societal anxiety, or just more people embracing their inner organization freak, games like this are a wonderful change of pace. Offering up a pretty wide variety of scenarios that will initially make you twitch with discomfort at how poorly things are organized or arranged, A Little to the Left is all about that euphoric feeling of taking a mess and making it into something presentable. While, in principle, this offers the same general satisfaction as the wonderful Unpacking, I will note that it has one key omission that takes it down a peg. The lack of an overarching story being told through the course of the game and even in the items you’re working with is a bit disappointing, as that really took things to another level. That said, I will give credit to the developers for trying to infuse the game with a little something extra between your “helpful” feline friend who periodically intervenes as well as a daily mess to tidy over the long term. You’re either the type of person who “gets” this sort of thing and digs it or you aren’t, so make your plans accordingly.
