While it has an undeniable sort of goofy charm with its characters and dialogue, the gameplay is mostly rudimentary
I absolutely have a deep love and appreciation for indie games that simply lock into what they’re looking to do and then commit to it unapologetically, damn the consequences. With its simplistic overall look, odd characters, and generally amusing dialogue Frog Detective absolutely hits those notes. It knows what it wants to be and hopes that you’ll dig it’s general vibe and experience, working more to entertain and amuse than challenge I’d say, but there’s absolutely a place for that on the eShop. Each mystery is a pretty pleasing but humbly-sized bite of charming but pretty straightforward adventuring, but its a fair question whether your tastes may line up with its overall simplicity.
