Fans of Cyberpunky vibes, turn-based battling, and a bit of techno-jargon being thrown around should enjoy this one
While in the early days the Switch was struggling mightily to pull in JRPGs of any kind, from AAAs down to indies, a while ago there was a turning point where they simply began to flood in. Keeping that in mind, I’m happy to say that Jack Move, at a minimum, stands apart from what’s typically a pretty fantasy-focused crowd and dives hard into a very futuristic and technology-driven world. What’s great is how that exhibits itself beyond the setting and storyline, infusing the combat with some smart variations on things you may have seen before, given some extra flavor with smart and appropriate technical lingo. The result feels both familiar and pretty fresh, and for people like me who can’t simply invest an ungodly number of hours into even making a dent in a game, the more humble overall runtime makes it a satisfying title that doesn’t linger longer than it should.
