Whether you’re familiar with League of Legends of not, this “boy and his beast” platforming adventure is a good time
Much like the Arcane series on Netflix, the best thing about Song of Nunu is that while it may have some ties to the League of Legends universe there’s no need to know anything about it to enjoy it. That’s great news overall since while it may not be the most challenging or technical 3D platforming adventure on the Switch it’s also thoroughly engaging and enjoyable. You’ll play as a young boy who is bonded to a Yeti-like beast, moving through the world both together and apart. As you’d expect the play is a mix of traditional platforming and climbing around the environment with some smart puzzle-solving which you’ll typically need to do apart. The level of challenge is typically quite friendly so younger and less skillful gamers should be able to take part in the fun, something that can’t always be said for the competition. While some areas like combat feel a bit under-used and under-developed on the whole there’s just a sense of joy in the game that was endearing, making it well worth a look.
