Quirky and generally well-implemented, this variation on platforming is far from being all thumbs
With indie titles you quickly learn that when developers latch onto an odd concept the only way to do things right is to go all in. That’s absolutely what has happened with Super Adventure Hand, where you’ll be challenged to navigate your runner-up for the casting of Thing in The Addams Family through a series of stages that will challenge your dexterity, planning, timing, and sometimes patience. There’s absolutely a “weirdo physics” angle to things here, as you’ll need to jump off of moving or curved surfaces at sometimes unusual angles, and you do often feel like you’re really controlling a hand moving on its fingers as there’s a certain clumsiness and lack of precision that comes with such an unusual mode of getting around. Thimbles hidden sneakily around will give you skins and accessories to unlock to make your hand better reflect your personal style, but you’re free to just keep moving if you’d like as well. While you could argue it doesn’t have the legs (HA!) to go the distance many of its contemporaries do in terms of overall length, it still provides an unusual and pretty memorable platforming experience.
