Reviews:
  • Pit one army of floppy units against another, battling it out from afar, or up-close if you want to be involved

While there are a variety of strategy games on the Switch, there is most assuredly nothing like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. I will say that it gets off to a rocky start, failing to provide any real guidance on what you’re supposed to be doing, specifically how the controls work, but with some work it does get rolling. Initially, you’ll work your way through a pretty wide variety of scenarios that will essentially let you familiarize yourself with the many categories of units and their effective use. The tricky part is that from that point you’ll really need to be into exploring the game’s creative modes and options, since in the end it is far more of a sandbox simulator than a strategy title. That generally means your enjoyment will hinge on how much you enjoy the rather amusing match-ups and funky action. In order to get the most out of it, in general I’d recommend that you join in, taking control of a unit and being part of the chaos. The ultimate question will be whether these antics are enough to keep your attention and I’d wager that results will likely vary widely.
