While this gravity-defying and somewhat mind-bending 3D puzzler can be aggravating it’s also quite unique
While I’ve seen quite a number of creative puzzlers on the Switch, I can easily say that none of them has had the same approach and feel of Youropa, mixing together a strong sense of exploration and experimentation with tricky environmental puzzles to concoct a unique experience. I will say that at the outset it can be a bit difficult to divine the precise limits and rules behind your gravity-defying ability to walk up and down and around on various surfaces (one key is to always look at your shoelaces and how they fall to help orient yourself when it gets tricky), but after a few plunges to your doom you should generally get the hang of it. One of the tougher things I had to get used to was the need to keep moving forward and accepting that not everything is meant to be grabbed when you first see it, requiring a new ability or perhaps triggering something in another area that will open things up in your current one. Still, those frustrations are relatively limited when taking into account the very creative and challenging stage designs that you’ll need to twist your mind around, much like the sometimes vertigo-inducing walks you’ll go on to get to your next goal. An easy title to recommend for puzzle fans and people who love very different types of visuals and experiences.
