Warm Snow
There’s a cool sense of style to this slashing sort of roguelike beat-em-up, but it still feels a bit generic in the end
Super Adventure Hand
Quirky and generally well-implemented, this variation on platforming is far from being all thumbs
It's a Wrap!
Undoubtedly a pretty unique mix of puzzle and platforming elements, along with a sense of humor, it’s a good time but the novelty can wear off
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge - Dimension Shellshock
If you enjoyed the original, the addition of 2 new and distinctive characters as well as a roguelike survival mode makes it better
Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case
If you’re looking for an opportunity to apply your deductive reasoning skills in search of connections and answers, this delivers
Cramped Room of Death
While the presentation is nice and clean, and the puzzles are reasonably tricky, there’s pretty even competition out there
The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie
While the visuals and flashy style of the series have continued to evolve nicely, the story will probably be inaccessible for the uninitiated
The Last Hero of Nostalgaia
Channeling a low-res Souls-like vibe, sprinkled with ample humor to lighten things up, it knows what it wants to be, though not for everyone
Nocturnal
Though it mechanics and style may be quite traditional (and even a bit stale), the addition of fire to the mix helps this be more memorable
The Case of the Golden Idol
Truly a bit of an odd bird, with its own pretty minimalist style on point-and-click adventuring, but daring to tell an overarching story its own way
HEXAPODA
While it may have a pretty basic black and white core look, there’s some compelling classic arcade shooter action to be had here
Trinity Trigger
With its classic look, structure, and support for 3-player co-op ala the classic Secret of Mana, Trinity Trigger has appeal for the right crowd
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly
This return to the all-night coffee shop means more brewing satisfying drinks and taking the time to listen to, and often help, your patrons
Kung Fury: Street Rage - ULTIMATE EDITION
Two distinct beat-em-up modes, some wild characters, and a taste for ridiculousness help, but the quality of play is merely average
Flame Keeper
A great overall look gets this off to a hot start, but a little too much repetition and some early struggles hold it back a bit
Pronty
With its unique underwater style and combat, this Metroidvania-esque adventure has its own feel
BROK the InvestiGator
Mixing together multiple genre feels results in a less traditional take on a point-and-click adventure
Rhythm Sprout
With a reasonably-low price point, and a nice variety of musical tracks, this is a humble rhythm winner if you’re ready to be challenged
Fearmonium
Hand-drawn flair and unusual characters help give this Metroidvania a chance to make an impression
Crystal Chip Collector e
Mixing together time limits, puzzle elements, and a need for some platforming precision amps up the challenge
Tricky Taps
Though it’s a pretty simple and budget-priced puzzle action game it manages to deliver a pretty great value
Kickback Slug: Cosmic Courier
Using your laser fire as a means to propel yourself makes for a challenge and some fun for the right crowd
The Jackbox Party Pack 10
One of the most eclectic mixes of styles yet in the series, it is likely that from person to person results and impressions will vary
Whateverland
While there have been quite a number of solid retro point-and-click adventures on Switch, none have quite had this flavor to them
Word Web by POWGI
If you get excited by quite challenging word puzzles, there’s no question this delivers…
Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate
Undoubtedly a unique take on both chess and roguelikes, this strategy title is refreshing but ultimately a bit limited
GigaBash
Best enjoyed with some raucous friends, GigaBash allows you to take out frustrations kaiju style, wrecking destructible cities in the process
Venba
One part exploration of culture, another puzzles in the form of food prep, Venba has a fresh feel but requires some patience
HYPER METEOR
Keeping things simple works to a degree for this title, but you really need to buy into the hook to get mileage out of it
LISA: The Painful - Definitive Edition
Decidedly old-school in look and execution, it’s the dark and sometimes disturbing nature of the journey that holds appeal
Crime O'Clock
While, at its core, this is still ultimately a hidden object game, the narrative flair, time jumping, and overall feel at least make it refreshingly different
Despot's Game
If you can accept that your control over your party is very limited as they battle through dungeons, you may enjoy this
No Place Like Home
While it won’t win any awards for its general level of quality, there’s a sense of Zen to be found in cleaning up the planet zone by zone
Drop - System Breach
While not necessarily difficult overall, this hacking cyber-puzzler has its own way of doing things
Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze
This adventure is absolutely an offbeat and odd adventure, though perhaps a bit too much so for a broad audience
Panic Porcupine
While it initially feels like a simple ripoff of Sonic the Hedgehog, once the difficulty curve kicks in hard it stands on its own
The Library of Babel
With a mix of classic cinematic platforming and adventure Babel does it’s own thing, but it isn’t all positives
GrimGrimoire OnceMore
Interesting characters, some drama, and a pretty light but engaging take on real-time strategy help this stand out some
Anyaroth: The Queen's Tyranny
With an old-school look and feel but smarter and more modern controls, Anyaroth offers a distinctive experience
Mystic Gate
While it doesn’t have the oomph to compete well in a crowded roguelike shooter space, for the price it has some merits
The Smile Alchemist
Combining together an upbeat tone, some fun characters, and a mix of puzzles and crafting this keeps things light and fun
Mosaic Chronicles Deluxe
Given the intricate elements in your typical artistically-driven stained glass window, working a puzzle for one quickly gets tricky
Maximus 2
While there’s a fine line between homage and ripping off, the Golden Axe beats in this budget beat-em-up spice things up
The Last Faith
While having an undeniably dark / attractive look and ambiance, the gameplay and overall design lack refinement
9 Years of Shadows
Undoubtedly giving off a feel of earlier days of grand environments, hacking, and slashing, but missing a spark to go next level
Headbangers: Rhythm Royale
An unusual, and pretty competitive, online multiplayer rhythm game, though perhaps a bit inconsistent
Project Blue
The latest in the wave of throwback NES-styled titles, Project Blue brings a very retro challenge to the table
Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur
While there are many slashing roguelikes out there, and the ones at the top of the pack are well ahead, there’s no shame in the middle
Brotato
Combining dodge-em-up style with roguelike weapon and character variability makes it distinct, though in execution it’s merely middling
Fall of Porcupine
While the story it tells feels unique and worthwhile, the inconsistency of the mini game implementation detracts from the experience
